Phototherapy

The Centre for Working Hands provides Hand Therapy in Michiana, including Elkhart and South Bend, Indiana.

Phototherapy South Bend The phototherapy light system is used at The Centre for Working Hands to treat athletic injuries, acute and chronic conditions, repetitive strain disorders, tissue healing, open wounds and more.

Through this treatment, focused laser energy penetrates deeply to stimulate tissue. The red light is absorbed by the cells and converted to biological energy, which increases microcirculation, accelerates tissue repair, reduces pain, decreases inflammation and enhances the immune system.

By providing the extra energy required for healing, the tissue is better able to heal itself. Some of the unique benefits to phototherapy include:

  • Increased cell metabolism
  • Improved localized blood circulation
  • Development of collagen and muscle tissue
  • Relief from acute and chronic pain
  • Reduced localized inflammation and edema
  • Stimulation for wound healing and tissue repair
  • Stimulation of the immune system
  • Stimulation of nerve function
