Hand Rehabilitation Michiana

The majority of injuries treated at The Centre for Working Hands are work related. They are complex traumatic injuries and often involve amputations and fractures, along with nerve and tendon lacerations. Once the acute phase of the patient’s therapy is completed their program is progressed with the focus on increasing functional use and strength in preparation for their return to work.

One way we prepare our patients for their return to work is by incorporating the BTE Primus RS into their therapy program. The Primus is a very versatile system and offers a variety of tools simulating hundreds of real world tasks. The patient can also work on strengthening the large muscle groups, and core strengthening with stabilization.

The software allows immediate feedback for the patient along with the documentation which is provided to the physician, employer, and insurance carrier. The information is saved and used for comparisons and documenting the patient’s progress.

Contact our reconstructive surgeons for more information on our rehabilitation clinic. The Centre for Working Hands offers the latest reconstructive surgery procedures, as well as rehabilitation services, to patients in Elkhart and South Bend, Indiana, Michiana and the Southern Michigan area.
