The Four-Step Process

The Centre, P.C.’s Injury Prevention Program employs a Four-Step Process comprising a series of highly effective prevention strategies. Among the nearly 400 work places that have used it, the IMPACC program has resulted in a 60 to 70 percent average reduction in lost-time claims. With the resulting improvements in productivity, quality and employee attitude, the return on investment can be dramatic.

Step One - Ergonomic Work Risk Analysis

• Examination of work design, worker habits, claims patterns, workplace policies and attitudes, and injury response policies.
• Development of a detailed report that identifies risk factors for each job, describing potential resulting injuries.
• Creation of a prioritized list of corrective recommendations.

Step Two - Management Team Training

• A seminar on claims prevention related to cumulative trauma disorders of the neck/arm and/or the back.
• Teaches company managers, supervisors and labor leaders about musculoskeletal function and injury, prevention tactics, ergonomics, worker self-care motivation, and successful return-to-work strategies.

Step Three - Employee WorkSmart Training

• Teaches workers how to avoid back pain and/or neck and arm fatigue.
• Encourages maximum employee responsibility for self-care and injury prevention.

Step Four - Ergo-Team Training

• Advanced training for select group of employees, supervisors, engineers, and health and safety staff.
• Teaches ongoing ergonomic work risk analyses, correction of potential hazards, and maintenance of ergonomically safe work environment.
• Plan of compliance with OSHA Ergonomics Guidelines.
