Mack Hugh Sullivan, Jr., M.D., has joined The Centre, P.C. as the third plastic surgeon on staff. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Sullivan most recently was in private practice at Cosmetic Horizons in St. Marys, Georgia, where he held privileges at four hospitals, not only in St. Marys but Jacksonville, Florida as well.
After receiving his pre-med undergraduate degree at Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama, Dr. Sullivan completed his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He then served a five-year general surgery residency at the Howard University Department of Surgery in Washington, D.C., followed by a two-year plastic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic Department of Plastic Surgery in Rochester, Minnesota.
The Mayo program accepts, and graduates, only four residents in plastic surgery into its two-year program each year, making it one of the largest, most competitive and robust programs in the country. Dr. Sullivan says that being immersed in a clinical environment where one is constantly challenged with the most difficult and complex cases provided him with the professional challenges to which he has always aspired.
Dr. Sullivan chose The Centre, P.C. over offers received from practices in Manhattan, Atlanta, San Francisco, Beverly Hills and Washington, D.C. The northern Indiana area appealed to him because of its congenial lifestyle, sense of security, and cost of living. He was most drawn to The Centre, P.C. because of its diversity of procedures and cases, and the autonomy a comprehensive plastic surgery practice offers a physician. Since all surgeons employed by The Centre, P.C. must be well-educated and board-certified, Dr. Sullivan makes a perfect fit.
In his spare time, Dr. Sullivan enjoys reading, golf, swimming, tennis and scuba diving.
