Laser skin resurfacing is generally well tolerated. The recovery time will vary according to each patient and the area(s) treated. Generally, patients can expect oozing, red skin for approximately 7-10 days. The area treated may be red or pink for several months, although it may be covered with camouflage cosmetics. Most patients prefer a light sedation or a general anesthetic during the procedure for optimum comfort. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis.
