The Centre For Working Hands
At The Centre for Working Hands, our expert hand therapists and specialized plastic surgeons have been helping our patients regain the function of their hands for over twenty years. Whether the patient was a victim of a traumatic hand injury, or a repetitive motion injury, our therapists and surgeons have been able to help countless people on their road to recovery.
Hand Therapy and Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services
Our expert staff understands that any injury affects the entire mind, body, and spirit of the injured person. At The Centre for Working Hands, we are able to help our patients along the sometimes painful and dreadfully long path to recovery by treating not only their physical injury, but also through our partnership with the Centre for Behavioral Care to help patients regain their emotional well-being following such traumatic circumstances.
Treatment for Hand Injuries
In addition, through years of experience in treating traumatic hand injuries and employing state of the art therapy techniques, we have learned that many techniques will yield a beneficial outcome for patients affected by other injuries and diseases. Our innovative plastic surgeons and therapeutic staff members have been able to identify therapy techniques that can be used to treat other patients of The Centre, P.C.
One such example is the Graston™ Technique which is a remarkably effective nonsurgical treatment that is commonly used to alleviate symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis. The Graston™ Technique has been used for soft tissue mobilization in patients suffering from cumulative trauma disorders such as plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many others.
Breast Reconstruction Surgery
Our skillful therapy staff along with our plastic surgeons identified similar circumstances in patients recovering from breast reconstruction following a battle with breast cancer. After treating many recovering breast reconstruction patients, we have noticed an astonishing increase in these patients’ range of motion and general well-being.
At The Centre for Working Hands, our therapists use their hands as tools that are instrumental in the healing of patients from all walks of life with injuries and diseases of all kinds. Through our knowledge of the human body and the human psyche, we are able to provide unparalleled rehabilitation services to any person in need.
Centre For Working Hands is conveniently located in Mishawaka. We are open Monday thru Friday from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
