Benefits of Eyelid Surgery

- Helps makeup go on more smoothly
- May improve vision if sagging skin impairs your sight
- Boosts overall confidence and facial appearance
Who Is a Good Candidate?
You may be a good candidate for blepharoplasty if you have:
- Excess skin that hides the natural fold of your upper eyelids
- Loose upper eyelid skin that droops over your lashes
- Puffy upper eyelids that make you appear tired
- Bags or puffiness beneath the eyes
- Fine lines and excess skin on the lower eyelids
During your consultation, your surgeon will review your health history, discuss your goals, and evaluate your eyelids, brows, and surrounding tissue to determine if eyelid surgery is right for you.
Before & Afters
The Procedure Process
Upper Eyelids
An incision is made within the natural crease of the upper eyelid, extending slightly past the outer corner into the crow’s feet area. Through this, excess skin and fat are removed. The incision heals discreetly along the eyelid’s natural contours.
Lower Eyelids
The incision is placed just below the lower lash line. Fat and skin are removed, and sometimes the muscle is tightened. For optimal results, laser resurfacing or microneedling may be recommended following surgery.
Recovery and Aftercare
Eyelid surgery is performed under general anesthesia and monitored closely by our certified anesthesia providers. After your procedure:
- Temporary blurred vision may occur due to protective ointments
- Tightness or discomfort** around the eyes is normal and managed with pain medication
- Swelling and bruising are expected and vary by patient
- Makeup use should be delayed until cleared by your care team
Most patients feel ready to return to normal activities within 7–10 days, but healing continues for several weeks. You'll be given detailed instructions to support your recovery, including:
- Avoiding blood-thinning medications
- Stopping smoking/nicotine before and after surgery
- Using sun protection and sunglasses to protect your eyes
Results
Blepharoplasty results in a more youthful, alert appearance—without looking overdone. Most signs of surgery fade within weeks, revealing a natural-looking improvement that lasts for years. Many patients find they look happier, more energetic, and more confident.
Tip: Pair your procedure with additional treatments like brow lift, Botox, or PRF for even more comprehensive rejuvenation.
Risks and Considerations
While liposuction is a safe and effective procedure, it is important to consider potential risks, including:
- Temporary dry eyes or irritation
- Difficulty closing the eyes completely during healing
- Mild asymmetry or scarring
- Reaction to anesthesia
Choosing a skilled, board-certified plastic surgeon is the best way to minimize risks and ensure safe, satisfying results.
